Barcode 5000281068350 – Coal Ila Distillers Edition 12-Year-Old Whisky (700mL)

This barcode is associated with a limited-edition whisky from Coal Ila Distillery, a relatively newer player in the global whisky market. Coal Ila is known for its innovative production methods, including the use of coal-fired distillation (hence the name "Coal Ila"), which imparts a distinct smoky, mineral-rich character to its spirits. The Distillers Edition 12YO is a single malt whisky bottled at 12 years old, with an ABV of 46%.

Key Details:

• Bottle Size: 700mL (standard for premium whisky releases).
• Bottling Style: Likely a cask strength or near-cask strength release, given Coal Ila’s reputation for bold, unfiltered expressions. The "Distillers Edition" suggests it may be a small-batch or experimental bottling with minimal intervention.
• Flavor Profile (Based on Similar Coal Ila Releases):
  • Primary Notes: Coal smoke, peat, dried fruit (raisins, apricots), honey, and a lingering mineral finish.
  • Secondary Notes: Oak, vanilla (from cask influence), and a touch of spice (clove, cinnamon).
  • Finish: Long, warming, with a bold but balanced smokiness that doesn’t overpower.
• Packaging: Typically features matte black or dark glass with minimalist labeling, emphasizing the coal-fired process. Some editions include limited-run artwork or numbered bottles.
• Availability: Coal Ila releases are often highly sought-after, with limited quantities. This specific bottling may have been part of a release program (e.g., subscription, auction, or retail drops).
